Dignity platform is the world's only marketplace for local skills and services, where all the money goes to nonprofits and social change organisations. It converts the idling capacity of people who would like to do more for social change. It’s an easy new way to meet your neighbours, help them (or receive their help) with any kind of skill or service, such as gardening, bike maintenance or business consultancy. They like to call it regenerative fundraising, because it increasingly unites and inspires people, rather than increasingly pestering or fatiguing them. They are rolling out through two amazing partners; The Real Junk Food Project and Extinction Rebellion.
Their fundraising marketplace is based on Ruby on Rails and they’re working on the last features. They are looking for someone who can help with fitting in payment processing and a chat function into the user journey and who can implement this, with support from one of their developers if needed.
A senior (or very passionate middleweight) Ruby dev with at least a few half-days a week available. You could work with their middleweight Ruby dev, just get an intro to the base code with them, or work entirely independently as you prefer. You’d be joining an ambitious team that cares about work culture and is passionate about social change, meaningful work and empowering people.
